The South African fashion industry is seeing more and more emerging stores, which today contributes as the fifth largest employment sector in this country. The combined affiliates generate an annual income of several billion Rands per annum.

The contributing to the fifth largest employment sector, one of Gauteng’s leading clothing brands, Dirty Lolli (DLCB) is known for its funky and youthful approach, founded by Ofentse Sello in 2009, he has dealt with quite a numerous amount of emerging hip-hop artist including Ali Mirza, one of Classified Recordz’ leading hip hop artists. Dirty Lolli Clothing Brand is an urban brand that expresses feelings of playfulness and enjoyment.

The young and fearless are able to express themselves in many ways through fashion. As it keeps evolving, more and more young people are beginning to find their own identity and are able to express themselves through the clothes they wear. According to research done by Ben Fletcher, author of Psychology Today, there is more to our clothing choices than we see. What you wear can portray a picture which can inform passers-by of your personality, ambitions, emotions and spending habits. As humans we communicate a great deal about ourselves through our personal style and dress code.

“THE POINT BEHIND THE CONCEPT IS TO MAKE PEOPLE WEARING IT ‘FEEL’ YOUNGER AND MORE CONFIDENT TO ACTUALLY REFLECT THE CHOSEN DESIGN AND COLOUR(S) ACCORDING TO THEIR PRESENT MOOD”

“From selling T-shirts from the boot of my car, to featuring them in stores in town, to opening a stall in the mall; I have, together with my team managed to have established my own Dirtylolli Clothing Store in Wonderpark Mall, one of Pretoria’s biggest shopping malls”, said Ofentse, Founder and CEO of Dirtylolli Clothing Brand

Start A Business

This is the first official post of Entrepreneurs on the Move, giving young people an opportunity to grow and make it in the business environment. According to Trading Economics, South African unemployment rate has increased from 25.2% in the first quarter of 2014 to 25.5% in the second quarter of 2014; known as the worst rate of jobless people seen since the first labour force survey in 2008. We find more and more unemployed graduates from different areas of the country.

WE BLAME THE GOVERNMENT BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT???

More and more young people are starting their own business because “finding a job is a job on its own” said Reamogetse Motsepe, Independent Field Advertiser and small time business owner.

How can one make small businesses work in South Africa?

Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises contribute about 40% of South Africa’s GDP, and employ more than half of the private sector work-force. About 80% of new jobs in the world economies are being created through SMMEs, making small businesses a key player in this day and age’s economy.
Before you dabble in the business sector there are key basics that one should take into consideration:

  • ·         Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses
  • ·         Find out if you are a self-motivated
  • ·         Are you willing to work long hours?
  • ·         You have to be a good decision maker
  • ·         Must have proper planning skills
What is the perfect SMME?

  • v  Antique refurbishment
  • v  Babysitting
  • v  Bed and breakfast
  • v  Blogging
  • v  Cake decorating
  • v  Catering
  • v  Cleaning services for businesses
  • v  Network marketing
  • v  Event coordinator
  • v  Event DJing
  • v  Landscaping services
  • v  Beauty and cosmetics

Before you start any business, one you should do research about the industry you are looking at expanding into, scan your environment for competitors, opportunities that align with your business idea, possible threats that you might encounter through your journey, also visualize the “idea” of your successful business.

IFA Changed My Life

How So Much Can Change In Such Little Time

I found myself dead in the depth of my debts, trying to look at any solution that could give me money. I borrowed, I loaned, I stole from those who I said I loved. I WAS BROKE.

Before my situation took its toll on me, I always thought that the people who came into our homes to take our belongings while we sleep are the criminals, but without realizing I became a criminal of my own circumstance. I did not break into houses no, but I broke into my life and stole my happiness because I thought I had it all but I was slowly losing it all.

My debts were five times more than my salary, my lifestyle was ten times more than my debts, my expectations where three times more than my lifestyle. I knew how dangerous it could be, I knew how awesome it could be. Not knowing that I would have been retrenched not even a year after I was employed… I WAS LEFT WITH NOTHING

I tried to pick myself up, got a watering job at one of my favorite restaurant, and then my car was taken from me. I tried to close off all debts but then I starved. Where were all the friends I spent my money with??? They went AWOL, no one was there help me; the banks were so friendly with me but only before the "how are you doing" part of the conversation, thereafter it was figures figures figures… Not mine though – what I owed them. I was ready to take my life, I could not cope…

On the Tuesday of the 11th of January the year 2011, I was about to take the order of this young gentlemen wearing a black slim-fit suit which I had a similar kind on table 29 - just before I opened my mouth he said to me “I used to work as a waiter but I was not making enough money to fix the holes my friends left in my pockets” and I thought that this man knows me from somewhere, which was strange cause I didn’t know him at all. I said “uuuurrrggghh” he told me to make time and call him, left his business card with a R200 note as a tip – I had not even served him yet!!!

I called him the very same day and he said to me “would you be at all open to making some money outside of what you are currently doing in the food and beverage industry” and then I said “yes sir, I would be delighted.” He took me to an IFA presentation, I remember when I walked in, so many people were there and I was left to stand, after an hour presentation, there I was – I BECAME AN IFA. It has been exactly three years, seven months and three days in IFA and I can confidently say that I take home R658 235.64 per annum, with a changed attitude and deeply humbled.

“I was asked to share this story with everyone because I know how nice it is to have careless fun with your friends and all, but the truth of the matter is, your friends will take you as far as they have failed, as soon as you are down and out they will dessert your. Do not underestimate the power of the IFA Business Opportunity, it saved me from myself and helped build my failures back into dreams and into reality… IFA I COULD, AND NOW YOU CAN”

"I earned for the first time"

IFA Business Opportunity's Moving ATMs Helps Change More Lives

Photo of Baleseng Modiba
After a full year of mixed emotions, Baleseng Modiba realised that she had an opportunity that could set her free financially and she did not know about its full potential.

Coming from a small township, west of Johannesburg, she was invited to one of the IFA Business Opportunity presentations in early 2012 only to cancel before the end of her first month.

IFA is the network marketing division of Clientele Life - South Africa's leading direct distributors of financial service products.

Modiba describes her life after getting married in November 2013 as “rough”, as she got in the habit of over-used credit cards, overdrafts, missing payments to her car instalments and forever borrowing money from her friends and family. “I regretted the day I cancelled IFA”, said Baleseng Modiba, “my salary was not enough to get me through the month” she added.

After a year, she realized that she needed to call the friend who introduced her to the IFA Business Opportunity, she attended the presentation yet again and this time “I signed that form with tears in my eyes”, knowing her financial situation, she then sighed with relief and thanked God for a second chance to change her circumstances.

“I re-joined in mid-April 2014, and started inviting people to the presentation, the business is growing like crazy and in less than two months, I got paid for the first time on the 20th of June and I am already a club 15, which gives me a bonus of R300 for 6 months on top of commission” said Baleseng, she also added, “I am on top of the world and I feel like a millionaire already “

Thank You IFA for Changing My Life

THIRD TIME LUCKY

Vuyani Takes Home Three Awards at IFA Provinical Rally

Vuyani Rozani
After being invited by Thulaganyo Seripe - IFA's mobile presenter, in November 2013, Vuyani Rozani could not find himself away from the stage at the IFA - the network marketing division of Clientele Life's provincial Vuk'uzenzele rally in Gauteng on Saturday the 26th of April at the IFA head-office. Rozani saw himself being called multiple times to the stage to collect for being a qualifier of the Vuka Bonus, Club 15 bonus which he has acquired in March 2014 and also a Club 30 bonus in April.

The level of excitement at the rally motivated more and more IFAs to want to be recognized by the company, "I am employed and doing IFA part time, but I got four times more money than last month by just doing the same thing over and over and over.
"I can now start dreaming again" he said.

In order to maximize your profits in IFA, it is always important to follow the basic formula provided at the presentations - Invite Meet and Follow Up. In early 2015, Clientele Life one of South Africa's leading direct distributors of financial service products will be allocating share to hardworking IFAs, following the rally this weekend, Thulaganyo Seripe was congratulated by his 'introducer' and Club 500 IFA, Robert Dikgale, for his achievement and also qualifying for the future shareholders category.

Make, Change and Own Your Future

The road to financial freedom

IFA has been around for a staggering 16 years and ever since it has been alive, it has managed to change lives of millions and millions of South Africans. IFA has taken people out of their day-to-day jobs into full time IFAs. The IFA Business Opportunity gives people the ability to make money by just following the three simple steps - I (Invite) M (Meet) F (Follow Up).

First you (I) invite people to an IFA (M) presentation, the professional presenter will present the business, and after the presentation, you will have the opportunity to walk away with a business that will guarantee that your life will be changed and then you  (F) follow up.

Thulaganyo Seripe
IFA receives more 20 000 applications forms on a monthly basis with new people who join the business. If it didn't work, people would not join would they?

"IFA has changes my life for the better, it is only through this opportunity that I have managed to get my first bond house, drive 6 cards - two of them being a Mercedes Benz and a BMW. I was invited to IFA by a colleague and ever since then I never looked back, IFA has really changed my life" - Thulaganyo Seripe

IFA gives people the opportunity to be a true reflection of your own dreams, and this is achieved by just following the three step winning formula

WEEKEND SMASHING RESULTS AS MOVING ATMs WELCOME NEW MEMBERS TO THE BUSINESS.

Mpho Monnakgotla
The first weekend of March 2014 produced outstanding results for the MovingATMs as the group welcomed over 14 people to the business. Among those people, two individuals - Jullia Motsepe and Mpho Monnakgotla made headlines as their excitement caught the attention of many after their first presentation.
After attending the IFA presentation this weekend they were excited to even invite their family members and friends to the business, which already generated a couple of appointments for them this week.
"I am so excited, I thought this would be boring but this presentation was so nice" said Motsepe.
After 16 years of existence, IFA has continued to change peoples lives and also made peoples dreams realities.
Approximately 20 000 people join IFA every month and the ATMs more than 50 people to join them in venturing into business the IFA way.
MovingATM members were encouraged to attend presentations often due to the high number of new members monthly, in that way "you will manage to be self motivated, and it is only through self motivation that one can make this business work" said one of the ATMs leaders Thulaganyo Seripe.
